Specific advantages of the Castagra Ecodur coatings include:
Ecodur far exceeds all standards of adhesion ensuring long lasting protection. Ecodur is also NSF 61 compliant. Ecodur 201 has superior, extreme cold weather application ability, as well superior ‘stickability’, and elasticity, when compared to conventional coatings. Coatings with less adhesion often fail without being noticed due to stress-induced micro cracking that allows chemicals and atmospheric pollution to do their damage unseen until it’s too late to remedy
With no petroleum used in its’ manufacture the price is in no way associated with the rising cost of oil, and the base material is recycled from blast furnace residue and construction debris. This makes the material cost cheaper than traditional epoxies and urethanes.
The solvent free spray system is not only safer for our workers, but a real labor saver due to greater ease of use and elimination of waste cleanup. These factors combine to make the Castagra Ecodur coating system the best value for your application.
Rapid Return to Service
Whether it’s sewer bypass or disruption to water service, down time is both costly and inconvenient. Ecodur is a rapid cure lining system that can be modified on site to produce cure times as quick as 5 minutes.
Ecodur’s rapid cure rate makes it possible to return your system to full service more rapidly than any other lining system available today. The rapid cure time also allows us to apply Ecodur in some of the coldest environments while maintaining maximum adhesion strength.
Single coat application
Multi-layer systems typically consist of a base or primer coat, followed by an intermediate or filler coat, followed by what can be multiple layers of a polymer top coat. The problems often associated with multi-layer liners have to do with inner-layer delamination, (the different layers don’t adhere to each other over the long haul). The Ecodur system avoids this problem because it is applied in a single coat producing a tenacious bond to the original substrate.
Another practical consideration is repair work. It is often advised not to try to patch over polyurethane with it being better to remove and replace the entire coating. Due to coating thickness of polyurethanes, removal can be very difficult indeed with extra heavy duty sand blasting material being required. Epoxy repairs include detailed and time consuming prep work to the area under the repair to be made. Ecodur bonds completely to the original coating at the molecular level.
The Castagra Ecodur system was developed to meet the growing demands for environmentally safe lining systems that maintain superior resistance to biogenic corrosion conditions. Ecodur is applied using a patented solventless spray technology. Ecodur far exceeds all standards of adhesion ensuring long lasting protection of water and wastewater structures. Ecodur is also NSF 61 compliant.
